the Galveston Courthouse is close to everything in town -- restaurants, businesses, attractions, and more. It was recognized as an ENERGY STAR® qualified building in 2004.
The Galveston U.S. Post Office and Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With a red Spanish-barrel tile roof and impassive limestone eagles adorning the building from above, scalloped wall patterns around the windows, and original finishes in the main lobby, the tradition that imbues the spirit of Galveston Courthouse today is one of excellence. Much of the U.S. Post Office and Courthouse's exterior appearance remains as it was when Houston architect Alfred Finn finished it in 1937.
